A Sudanese court sentenced a pregnant woman, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, to death when she refused to recant her Christian faith."Conversion from Islam is a crime punishable by death, suspected
converts to Christianity face societal pressures, and government
security personnel intimidate and sometimes torture those suspected of
conversion," said the U.S. Commission on International Religious
Freedom.Ibrahim maintains that she is a Christian and will remain a Christian.
Ilbrahim, 8 months pregnant, is currently being held in prison with
her 20-month-old son while here Legal team tries to appeal the verdict

Please use all diplomatic alternatives and make the case of
Meriam Yehya in Sudan a priority. The United States must stand against
religious persecution and allowing this woman to be executed for simply
deciding to become a Christian is unacceptable.
